Connecting to a Domain Controller

PPE stores its configuration in Active Directory. Any configuration changes made on one domain controller automatically replicate to the other domain controllers in the domain. You only have to configure one domain controller in each domain.

The PPE management console connects to a nearby domain controller when it opens. To configure a specific domain controller:

  1. Click the Password Policy Enforcer item to display the PPE view.
  2. Click Connect To in the right pane of the management console.
  3. Type the name or IP address of the domain controller you wish to configure, and then click OK.

You cannot make changes to the PPE configuration while the management console is connected to a read-only domain controller.
